Description

Fix your 07-14 GM Truck dashboard with a molded plastic dash cover from DashSkin! This cover is molded to the exact shape of your vehicle's dashboard, and mounts right over the top of your dash to cover cracks and holes. The cover requires no special tools to install, and mounts using silicone adhesive (included). This DashSkin covers the whole top of the dash including the defrost panel as one piece. The workmanship of the cover is warranted for life against cracking, warping, etc. DashSkins even work great with large pieces of dash missing, as long as there is enough dashboard left on all edges (perimeter) to serve as a stable and level foundation for the cover. If you have cracks you will be covering, we advise cleaning your original dashboard well with degreaser, and bracing any cracks using some of the included silicone adhesive. If you have lots of cracks or large holes, you can add a second tube of adhesive to use for reinforcement/strengthening by clicking add to cart it in the related products below (also found in the EXTRAS section of our site). This dash cover fits ALL 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche and GMC Yukon/Yukon XL vehicles, and all 07-14 Silverado LTZ (only!) and Sierra SLT/Denali (only) pickups.

HOW TO HELP STOP ANNOYING RATTLES: If your dash is rattling or sqeaking, using EXTRA silicone adhesive in all of the cracks can help make a huge difference! Apply the first tube of silicone that is included with the cover to the underside of the skin just like the instructions specify, then use your extra adhesive (purchased from us or at any hardware store, 100% silicone RTV adhesive) to apply directly to the dash itself to fill all cracks with a thick bead of silicone, and outline any holes (if you have holes) with the silicone just before installing the cover. We don't recommend allowing this to cure first, apply the skin while all of silicone on the cracks is still wet so the cracks bond to the underside of the skin, this way the cover can help hold everything still like a membrane of support. If you have rattles coming from underneath the dash, obviously this surface treatment will not help stop those noises, but for the vast majority of our local installs, this little trick works extremely well! NOTE: If the clips under your defrost dash panel (nearest the windshield) are broken, be sure to consider applying some silicone to the broken clips as well to hold that piece still, this can be a hidden source of rattles as well.

A WORD OF ADVICE: If you have not already brought your vehicle to a GM dealer for the Takata airbag recall replacement, we recommend doing so before installing your skin.

All DashSkin dash covers are backed by a LIFETIME WARRANTY, covering products that are installed properly. This warranty covers cracking, warping, and any failure related to extreme temperature and sun damage. Exceptions to this warranty include dash covers that have not been installed yet, dash covers that have been placed into the vehicle but not glued (not installed properly), or dash covers that were installed with an unapproved adhesive (as many adhesives can react with and melt ABS plastic).

In warmer temperatures (60+F) we recommend at least 6 hours. In lower temps (down to 40F) we recommend at least 12 hours.

40F is the coldest recommended temperature, our adhesives will not fully harden in temps below this. Remember to allow for additional cure time (up to 12 hours) for installing in temperatures this low!

NO. DashSkin is a rigid, molded plastic dash cover meant to install OVER your old dash to cover cracks and holes. While you can use a DashSkin with a lot of your dash missing, the product cannot be used in place of a dash, as it needs structure to mount to.

The benefits of using the one piece cover are that there are fewer seams for your eyes to catch, making it blend in better and look a little more factory-original, and being a unibody design makes it structurally more rigid and usable in situations where you are missing bigger sections of dash. The two piece kit allows for removal of the smaller front defrost section (to replace the light sensor) without having to take the dash covers off of the dash, which for some is a huge selling point; but bear in mind since there IS a small gap between the two pieces, any cracks you may have where the gap is might be visible, so if you have lots of cracks or holes, the one piece is definitely the way to go.

We do not sell an airbag cover because we do not recommend covering the airbag panel in any way for safety reasons and to abide by NHTSA/DOT regulations. Anything placed over an airbag panel will become a projectile if the airbag deploys, and hard plastic at 250+ MPH can cause serious injury.

DashSkin only needs most of the outer edges remaining on all 4 sides to serve as a foundation to mount to. Remember that any dash material missing on outer edges may have visible gaps where the cover stops.

We recommend cleaning with a wet microfiber cloth only. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL OR SOLVENTS ON THE TOP SURFACE OF THE SKIN as they will strip the paint.

While we typically receive excellent feedback on our color matches, you should be prepared for the match to be a little lighter or darker than your dash. The amount of sunlight vehicles are exposed to can vary substantially, making matching these vehicles a "moving target" so to speak. For this reason, DashSkin offers our dash cover paint in AEROSOL form to make it easy for you to spray other dash components to match your DashSkin for the stealthiest possible install!

If your order arrives damaged, contact us within 14 days of arrival for a replacement! Please do not dispose of the damaged item before being instructed to, as FedEx may need to pick it up for inspection.
